Carnival of Agilists - 1/05/06

Welcome to the 2006 Carnival of Agilists and Happy New Year!

Many of you have been busy this year end proving us your "best of" lists, books to read and just a lot of blogging. Obviously you all had too much time on your hands over the holidays - time to get back to work.

In the mean time, I was taking some needed time off from our online community - boy is it hard to catch back up on a month's absence. I could use a Tivo blogging service to keep track of it all. Thanks to all of your contributions and and wonderful insights.

The next Carnival will be January 19th, 2006. Here is this editions contents...

Individuals and interactions over processes and tools

  • What happens when executives start to push the corporate agile bandwagon? Ester Derby has some Observations on Corporate Culture and Agile Methods Adoption/Adaptation.
  • Lisa Haneberg explores how the power of inclusion and empowerment leads to Owners Not Groaners.
  • Tobias Mayer, challenging Ron Jefferies as the new zen of the agile community has had some thought provoking contributions on the message boards and in his writings - here he is Cutting up an Ox. Mishkin thinks it is a lovely poem.
  • We get our teams to show us the software" after each iteration, but how often as managers do we "show" them what you are looking for? Jeffrey Phillips has some "Show and Tell" advice for managers
Working software over comprehensive documentation Customer collaboration over contract negotiation Responding to change over following a plan Fun Books, Books, Books... Suggested reading lists...

petebehrens (Pete Behrens) : (time lapse) I DID IT! I ran a 44:30 10k - on a flat sea-level course in Seattle in cool weather. Mile high #BolderBoulder next.

petebehrens (Pete Behrens) : Amazing - 5:20am in Seattle hotel, all 9 treadmills are busy. Good motivation to run outdoors today.

Armond_M (Armond Mehrabian) : @petebehrens Thanks for sharing the slides. Is there a webinar-like presentation of these slides somewhere? #RallyON2012
